Re: FB EK Nats. The whole Trip is Fun as well!

Thanks for the Plastic link Cruz.

I have a tiny hole on a front indicator lens following the Wagga Wagga long weekend rally. I noticed blue FB on the rally got the whole lens smashed. T'was a great run & show with excellent weather but farm utes going the other way at maximum warp do throw up a few ...

Re: Holden FB EK Factory Paint and Colours Thread

My original Corana Grey / Arctic Beige will stay original for now. Luckily my rust is only a bit of surface dust in places but every original car will eventually have to bite the bullet on this front at some time in the future.

I understand that you can still get nitrocellulose paint ( used on ...

Re: Holden FB EK Factory Paint and Colours Thread

Hi Steve

Hmmm... a goal has to be to stabilise the old nitro finishes. Mine is pretty good because it was always away from any moisture (and I keep it that way) but there is always the odd rust spot coming through here or there (like the hot points of the bonnet) . Light surface rust poking though ...

Re: Tyre Question

Hi Mefb

These are my rough (and dubious ) calcs:

The bias tyres have a diameter of about 25.25" (radius 12.62"). The circumferance would then be 3.1416 x 2 x 12.62 = 79.29"

The 185/80s have a Diameter of 24.7" (radius 12.35"). Circumference would then be 3.1416 x 2 x 12.35 = 77.59"

79.29/77.59 ...

Re: Tyre Question

Fantastic! I have now ordered a set of Maxxis p185/80s. The only decision now is whether to leave the thin 25mm whitewall on the outside or the inside

To me this is a much better option than buggerising around with diff ratios on an original car and cheaper than going back to the cross plys ...

Thanks Steve

It's all original with negligible rust! {except for HD seat belt clasps, a new 2 core ratiator, and plastiv master cylinder reservior}.

Would there be any way to discern the manufacture date?

cheers

Paul

Re: Paul 60's Early FB

Hi Blacky

I'll get some more pics.

Hi Newman. I know the history because it has been in the family since 96 and the original owner was from Leeton. (I had to extract a lot of her brother's rice grower mail from the boot.) My intention is not to do too much to the car except for getting & keeping ...

Paul 60's Early FB

Here is the Car - it's the same age as me!!! No body rust, no panel repairs, pre-acrilic paint and a very clean interior. The tiny ding in the rear door convinced the 80 y.o owner to give up driving in 1996. Since then it was shedded ...
