Great work Taz,

Fabricating everything like this takes years, it will be well worth it once you are done.

Christ, am I just lucky or are all doors gaps as bad as mine along the bottom. I have the gaps pretty good along the top areas but along the bottoms at the rocker that are so far out.

I know I was going to have to doing some sanding and add some metal but wow, they are pretty bad. The last picture shows where the meet at the middle.

I also ended up splitting the bottom dog leg on the rear door to pull the wheel arch and rocker panel edges out so they meet with the door edge.

Is it common practice to pull the door edges out as they all seem to curve in right on the outer edges.

They were pretty horrible straight out of the factory mate, and 60+ years later they wont have gotten any better .....

Have you thought about removing the divider strip between the front and rear doors ? Gives you one less gap to fettle and makes for a cleaner look - I think EK283 did it on his rig ?
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

Right, so been trying to get the exhaust finished but hit a few snags with getting the cats up high enough. This job has taken wwwwway to long but the end is in sight.

Ended up trimming some material of the gearbox cross member. This allowed me to get everything up higher. Just waiting for a donut to arrive so I can cut some short radius elbows from it.

Oh, I have also made an engine cover which should go well with the air intake and rockers covers.

I am thinking of getting an ally plate with a design either laser cut or CNC into it to go on top of the engine cover. Anyway plenty of things to do before that will happen.

Lifted up the radiator cap, drove the EK out and drove a new one back in underneath.

Cool progress Taz.

Success, all fits and aligns nicely with plenty of clearance. I still need to do the drivers side but I have already cut all the elbows to length using the passenger side as a guide.
