After Market Heater
Aftr Market Heater
Very tidy bracketry Marty. Yes you will need to ensure there is no tension in the hoses with that setup or they will pull the grommet out. Might suggest if you need to adapt hoses to do it elsewhere. I had this issue running warmaride off red motor because the red runs larger diameter, but almost looks like you have to step up size to that heater.

Re: Aftr Market Heater
yup it is the rares grommet. original crumbled into dust once touched. i think the coat of black paint over the face was holding it together.Harv wrote: Fri Apr 24, 2020 7:08 am That firewall grommet is the aftermarket Rares one. It is very, very thin compared to the original GMH ones. I found that the heater hoses had enough weight that they would pull the grommet out, repeatedly. Ended up running with a loose grommet for a while to let the hoses find their "settling" point, then superglued the grommet in place.
Cheers,
Harv
noted re the hoses. might have a think about making a hose support S thing attached to something solid and stable on both sides of the firewall

Re: Aftr Market Heater
so, after the advice on here about the hoses and grommet setup and trying to slip straight hoses onto it and checking the bends required to get to the firewall at a reasonable angle, I'm considering making use of the engine bay heater hoses in the cabin with the 90 deg bends at the heater. The edge of he heater is about 10mm from the side of the glovebox so a bit of trimming of the glove box will be happening.
