Different size bump front stops

Post by Craig Allardyce »

Hi all,

anyone come across this??
I've just discovered my replacement lower control arm has a different size and shape bump stop holder, and of course it had to happen after I'd painted it.

I think it looks to be FE/FC or early FB. Rare Spares only stock one size that covers FE to EK (small).
Looks like a I may have to get another arm of maybe swap over the holder from my original arm.

Cheers.

Thanks Les, I could'nt find those ones, I must be going blind!!
I thought about just fitting a different bump rubber but now decided against having two types on the front.
I ended up swapping the bump stop of my old control arm to the new one so I can retain the original style stop.

Drilled out spot welds on both arms and fitted original bump stop to new control arm.

This work looks to be taxing enough for someone to have a sleep even while I'm grinding, drilling, and welding

The whole control arm looks different. The painted one looks bigger all round. Maybe it's just because it's painted.
