thought about it whilst not sleeping
i can either A.move the mounts back and make/modify the gbox mount but the shifter will hit the seat, carb the firewall etc
or B.bend a bit of steel over some pipe and chop the sump and weld it in
Bloody cars...Q.if I slam on the brakes how far forward will the motor and box move?...i have 9mm

between waterpump bolts/radiator(Not a 9mm cock)

I have to move it back. :(

Mick the steering box holes arent in the same spot, close though

I moved mine forward and managed to keep the standard lock position for the bonnet. Just made up a new radiator support. I utilised the gap forward of the standard radiator position right up to the bonnet lock bracket. The radiator sat on the beaver panel and under the radiator cross support. Grill still fitted ok as well. Fans sat behind radiator where they should too.
My motor sat well forward so I could fit in the manifold and trimatic without any cutting.

I like the cortina grill
Probably means you won't use it  .

I have about 10mm between my fan and radiator too.
Use an Eh to HR fan, they don't flex.
I used a HQ one and it ate my radiator  .
