SH%*T Dave!! I didn't hear about you falling off a ladder! Good thing they did'nt have to amputate your feet...that would have made you 3 feet tall!!

Ha ha Scotty. Im short enough as it is. I was in a wheel chair the whole time. If I couldnt get around on that I would crawl on my hands and knees.

When I was hurt I went with a mate to the city to a book sale. I parked the car and wheeled myself up Clarence st and crawled up the stairs.

I knew the parking meter was going to run out so I left my mate and went down the stairs dragging the chair behind me. Before I got to the bottom one of the wheels broke off and there I was sitting in the footpath not being able to get to the car and a broken wheel chair. Do you think anyone walking past offered to help? Not likely.

Imagine trying to explain that in court when I am trying to get off the fine.

When I got home I dragged the Mig welder out of the shed and welded the bloody thing on.

I have enjoyed the responce to the artwork and contonuing banter between members. I have been going through my files in search of some other artwork and found these extra drawings that I am now posting. these as well as the other Holden coupes and Convertibles are drawings done with felt tip pens and marker pens. With the advent of computer I haven't done one like this for years. See what you think.
Next week I will post a bunch of paintings that I have done over the years, but that's another story.

PS My father, who introduced me to Holdens 39 years ago, underwent surgery today. They gave him a new valve in the heart and some bypasses too! He is busy waking up at the moment.

Ali, They're great drawings for felt pen. The reflections in the chrome are fantastic!
Cheers Theo Z.......................
PS. Hope ya Dad recovers well. Double red motor springs on that valve should keep him going for another 39 years!
Watch for the early bird, He might be just getting home.

That's some very impressive colour renderings there, Alastair 8) 8)
Those last artworks remind me of a Queensland artist's (Aden Jacobi), he and I have done a few bits for magazines over the years.
Doesn't the computer make short work of what took days of masking and spilling paint away!
Hope your Dad recovers quickly, these days that sort of operation is 'run-of-the-mill' and the patient's are up and about a lot quicker than you think! :D

Now for a real challenge for you..enter the colouring comp!

Hi Guys

Just wanted to say that Alastair's Dad came through the heart surgery, but picked up another bug and we lost him yesterday.

To the Saxton family,

I lost Dad five years ago this week and while the years soften the loss, thankfully the good memories remain.

Unfortunately my dad and I didn't have much to share and I envy those who have done so much with there fathers. You are one of lucky ones so treasure those memories and think of him every time you are near a Holden.

My sincere sympathy at this time.
