WOW this was scary , cutting up a Chevy factory coupe quarter , If I got it wrong it would be pretty hard to get it right from there on.
I couldnt find my balls anywhere 8)
Im still not there but Id rather cut millimeter by millimeter than bugger it up.
And Im trying to keep the door jamb folded edge of the sedan quarters , It would be way easier to just overlap the quarters without that edge in the way , tack it then make a cut through both quarters and butt weld them , but I figure that fold will keep some strength to lessen the warpage when welding.
Im going to try that method of using compressed air on the weld immediately after tacking/welding , let yous know how it goes.

Heres a couple of random pics of interest , the first will become Golden Fleece garage real soon , just waiting on a sign for the roof . Paint and artifacts ready to go :)

and heres the nomad Van and ute waiting patiently for me to share the love 8)

Harko you planning on running the chevy front bar on the FC? Now that'd upset a few, I like! Great toys you got there. Can't wait to see what you come up with for the rear of the sled, it really need what you have done.

Your not scared are you Harko!! But then again I've had a look at the FC Nomad you've been doing and it doesn't surprise me. Some serious work on that there custom, the dash will keep 'em guessing. Keep at it.

My runner only reaches from the garage to the house Terry :)
Shane Ive always just used wet rags around what Im welding which is real primitive in this day and age now ,considering all the products that help disipate or suppress the heat .
Might try both hehe with wet rags , No warpage would be great 8)

the third one almost made it .
Because the screen flares to the back the more we cut off the narrower it became and then the rubber couldnt compress enough to handle it .
So make that 4 at $180 a pop hmmm damn thats expensive :)
The guy who cut it was a Rod club member ,Todd something .
He was running his own glass company (Ill find his number when you need it , If you do "
I had another guy try the first two and he was seriously not happening.
