Here's a few quick pics of the chev I bought last year , now getting a new butt .


Ive just moved house to finally gain a shed large enough to house all the cars so in agony Ive been chaffing at the bit to start the repairs on this one

Its a 53 from new york thats been floating around victoria for the last 12 years I know of in its poor sled guise.

I sourced a new bum replacement after a bum steer and almost a bum deal from a yankee yard in Victoria .


Bought it home in "God help me " a &*#@

Tomorrow I will make the scary cuts for repair.

Thats the yankee yard in ararat yeah?? My mate and I are thinking of doing a weekend trip up there.
The chev looks good, I think I've told you a few times to concentrate on that more than the others
Chop proportions look pretty good to, but I assume you dont have glass??

Yep Nekro .
Dont trust the proprietor , The arse end was definitely complete over the phone "Definitely complete mate , all there and very very little rust .
Just cut it off and load it into a trailer" he said ,
He then let me drive 9 hours , only had a rusty bum with one piece of stainless and still wanted the same price , and oh yeah this was after I had cut it from the body wrestling hundreds of red backs (not money )
then when he found some more bits the price was going up $30 - $50 each piece.
Biggest grub Ive met ...

Glass , ahh worry about that later hehe , been there before with the chopped ute , little scary but doesnt scare me off

glass shouldn't be a problem if you've had front glass cut for an EK you can get it cut for anything
don't take this the wrong way but do you think you will finish this one

I can confidently answer that question with a Yes .
The previous house had nowhere safe for me to put a hot car or work on one for that matter ,and I had drama's getting the missus to move house and improve the situation .
But we did move house and at present I have room to work , room to maneuvre , room to store , and room for the kids .
And now after doing all the hard work on all of my projects Im set to finish atleast 1 a year if not two .
No excuses and I need to enjoy myself in em not on em

you know what's strange all the custom fb/ek's i did were in the big blue shed(back yard) now that i've got heaps of room and plenty of shed space i'm not realy doing anything

Ive heard stories like that hehe.
I think the challenge is to get to a position where nothing stops you from working , then nothing starts you .

But Im f...ing loving it , Im still walking down the centre and around the car rather than just going down the wall side where there
"is" room now hehe .
20 mins in the shed per day like clockwork will keep you on your toes , have a list of stuff to do and away you go - short jobs on days your not keen to be in there and big ones on days you are .
Creation is a gift / talent that cant be taken for granted but needs practice for effectiveness .
While I was cutting these quarters today I was designing tail lights in my head

Your ute with the chop top, how much did you chop it? And where did you source your windscreen. I'm contemplating a chop on an old sedan, biggest problem is sourceing the glass.
