Absolutely didn`t offend bud,I like to throw a bit as well as take it.When I actually started the build I went with the 6 for fuel economy and rego purposes...well at least the rego is still cheap lol .What does annoy the crap outta me is when purists aren`t so pureV8EK4us wrote:Hey ekturbo, just some normal straight 6 versus V8 bantering, your ride is impressive and don't let anyone tell you any different. We all have "personal" preferences and mine happens to be V8's. didn't mean to offend...ekturbo wrote:My motor come out of a holden vl commodore, pretty sure thats an aussie car, look at all the new motors an please tell me which one is soley aussie designed an built. If I put in an ls2 or commie v6 buick engine the die hards wouldnt have batted an eyelid, funny eh.I love v8`s as well and was tossn around the idea about selling the ol girl an getting a 68-69 rs camaro big block. Pretty hard though as I built this car from nothing.

Ye ta bud, I went for the mild look. I took it to the brissie powercruise last year and blew the doors of a few of the bigger carsben wrote:Damn nice car ekturboMate a set of steelies and hubcaps and i reckon you have the ultimate sleeper

FIRST nice car
if you look around you'll see what i think of commondores aswell they are just something to drive and VL's are the worst of them for that reason (jap motor)
but this is just my opinion so it doesn't really matter
i'm not anty jap either just don't like 'em in holdens
have a mate with one of those godzilla things 900hp at the wheels, he had a bit of a trot against a 300kw grange commondore, guy in the grange wasn't happy when my mate passed him with all 4 tyres ablaze

I am somewhat of a hypocrite dont worry, I dont like ricers persay but scraped through with my conscience as the rb30 come out in a holden.Agreed on the dunnydoor front.I live in a mining town so the rage is to have a new clubsport with 900" tall rims, .15 series tyres and a god awful body kit.All the soul of mashed potato.ratbox wrote:FIRST nice carif you look around you'll see what i think of commondores aswell they are just something to drive and VL's are the worst of them for that reason (jap motor)

step 1. get commondore from local dealer
2. go to local tyre dealer get them to supply fit lowered springs and and afformentioned huge wheels with rubberband tyres
3. go to local stereo supplier get them to supply stereo huge amp and massive sub wooffaa
BINGO instant show car

Fellow I met at a car show had his clubby there, saw I was wearing a summernats shirt of a particular year. Apparently he won top street award for a clubbie with big wheels and a bolt on supercharger with a little bit of custom interior in that year I was there. Completely good guy don`t get me wrong but I thought sheesh.
EKturbo, I wondered what a Nissan motor would like in a EK, now I know, I have seen a few in EJ/EH's, SOme in HG's, Plenty in Commodores and I must have admit I fitted a few RB20's Turbo in VS's.
Don't take this the wrong way...........
I not criticizing you or your great workmanship to fit that engine to a EK or any Holden for that fact, you have indeed done fantastic job on your vehicle, But I'm not a fan of the Jap import in a classic car...............
Sorry Don't mean to offend.........
Just my opinion

There's nothing as Sweet as a EK V8
Great looking car,
I was never a fan of any type of turbo or jap car ever although once you drive a good one I understand why people do like them. The car that converted me (well only slightly) was a mazda rx3. These things are rockets light weight and handle like they are on rails. Back to the point I think the turbo six would suit the old girl, you know not all that heavy and heaps of grunt especially compairing it with the power to weight ratio.
As a everyday driver I bet you cant wait to get into every morning.
Anyway its another Golden Olden still pounding the pavement so thumbs up from me.
Regards Greg

Thnaks guys, it is fun to drive. I drive on the streets like a grandad but on the strip it still has a fair bit of grunt. Even if I do end up getting my camaro it will be turbo`d before too long.I am a big fan of the good ol 202 as i used to race one in my altered. but they are`nt in the ballpark for power, reliability or economy that I wanted.I understand it`s not everyones cuppa and that`s fine,if we all liked the same thing we would be commodore driversEK283 wrote:Great looking car,
