Well guys!
I dare say "Yes I have been slack with updating my thread with updates and images"
I've just been doing a bit of rust repair, now the old girl is completely rust free. Well any rust you see in the following pics is just surface rust(keeping in mind thats how all rust starts)
Over the upcomming months you'll see me transforming the old girl one panel at a time. One weekend will = One Panel. I'm trying to get it to show room condition so that the panel and paint work is flawless, so you can look down the side of the car and not see any blemishes or divets or anything.... smooth as a babies bum i guess you'd say
Ok for starters
Do you remember how at the right rear of the car in the window cil it looked a little like this?
Well now it looks a little like this....
We remade the drip rail as well, it proved to be testing but we got it right
In fact we derusted the whole rear window cil
Both of the bottom rear quarters have been cut out and been plated and fixed. (After old mate just bogged through the rust holes, we're redoing anything with his red-oxide paint on it, its all the same! , Most of his work consists of Bog and Newspaper to fill the holes, DODGY!)
I also fixed the rust on the right rear wheel tub, it was rusted through, you used to be able to put your finger through the wheel tub and into the boot or vice versa, now its fixed and solid (as is all the work)
I've welded in the new cils on either side underneath the front doors, these came up especially good
and...
The rear fuel port was plated and welded up to allow the installation of a side fuel door on the passanger side.
A section of the boot floor was refabricated after we found it had been fibreglassed,bogged among other snot so we refabricated that section and then rewelded the rear boot braces back on.
and...
and I just fixed a few other rust spots here and there
this next one was just between the drivers door and roof.
So yeah, thats my progress to date guys, I hope you enjoy
I'll be getting into it more so now.
But the whole build will slow up a bit.
I'm building it over 3 years now to coincide with Queenslands new gay P Plate laws(I'm only 19 years old this year).
Because if I rego'd it now, i wouldnt be aloud to drive it.... which is no good.
So It'll be built over 3 years.
Which means it'll be bigger better and tougher then ever before

Hi Rowan,
Where abouts in QLD are you. Don't be concerned about how long it take as you can't rush perfection.
Your doing a great job and it will all be worth it in the end.

Great progress on the FB - it's good to see someone keen to do up an aussie classic rather than just picking up a Skyline from the importers....
I went through much the same thing with my FB wagon - it was my first car - only Dad and I had to have any work finished before sunday night as it was my daily driver at the time. Windows out, doors off, interior out... didn't matter! back together by end of weekend.
It feels strange when it's just a bare shell and 67 boxes of bits, as it sort of stops being a car, and that's where too many projects stall. I definately admire your persistence - some of the tricky rust repairs you've done look great!
Anyways, keep us posted and keep up the good work

Well I havent died, lol
Just been busy.
My FB looks much the same, havent done a great deal to it.
Just lost my license, under new QLD P Plate laws it means i cant drive it for a while now....
But the plans are still the same (Front cover of Street Machine Magazine) ( and a host of others)
Motor = 1 x Supercharged 383 Stroker .... sorry i mean standard 307.
Box = 1 x Beefed up TH350 - 3500rpm stally
So much more. Chasing the 500 horses at the wheels!
I want an animal on the streets!

I've experienced 680+ at the flywheel on the street and it sure as hell is fun, but not if you get caught....
Speed and Style........... One day I'll get the speed bit.
Nice!!! Now what are silly P Plate laws guys?? Its always easy to say that when you are young but when you see the aftrermarth of an ugly accident, which unfortunately is usually a P plater its really not nice. They are there for a reason. Persisit with the FB its coming along real nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!
alot of P pllaters think there ten foot tall and bullet proof
but there are also alot of old fools on the road aswell many a time i've done something stoopid to get around these fools doing 70-80 in a hundred zone
thing is a V6 VN is just as dangerous driven the wrong way my shopping car with over 300 thousand k's on it is still capable of 190KMH and that's where i decided to stop
somehow younger drivers need to be re-educated cause the cars that they can buy cheaply are capable of high speeds compared to when i was young
but there are also alot of old fools on the road aswell many a time i've done something stoopid to get around these fools doing 70-80 in a hundred zone
