Is your boot floor and fuel tank rusty?
If you want to increase your fuel tank capacty and have a flat floor then do what I did. I cut the boot floor out of an XB &*#@. This solved a few problems 1) Got rid of the rusty floor and tank,2) Increased the capacity about three fold,3) Gave me a larger boot as the spare goes in the tank.
Have a look at the boot photo's of Petrolheads FB and you will see what I mean. That looks like a great project car and with very little rust(mint floors). Hope to see more photos as it goes on.

What size are the rims?
Andrew
Hey Andrew,
I think I'm gonna have a ball resotring her. Just so excited about it. lol, one of my dream cars and Its becoming a reality lol.
Yeah It came with all the parts and soo soo much more. Its got all the chrome 1 and 3\4 sets of spare chrome strips. I got such a good deal it wasnt funny.
I've got 2 and 1\2 engines, all in pieces, A camp out seat (didnt even know about them, they fold down and make the car into a big bed) I got 2 Diffs, Spare Tailshafts, Spare Hydromatic, lol and the list goes on and on, but the most worthwhile thing was the rubber kit, I got a brand new! harrisons rubber kit still in all its plastic packets worth $1200! lol
and all i paid was $560 and the old girl is straight as and has mags with low profiles! lol !
The mags are 15"x7" i think.... lol

Actually mate, its white with a pink flash... thats what happens when you leave your car out in the weather for long periods of time.Hey Rown,
Welcome to the forum, sounds like you got a bargain of the century. Are you going to keep that purple flash on white colour scheme? - very cool Not too many of those around are there?
regards,
Stewart
That is pink paint that is just stuffed from the sun.
but nah I'm not going to re-paint her those colours again.
I'm tossing up a few colours at the moment.
I'm pretty sure it's going to be something along original colour lines but a more punchy version. (Just looking over all the FB\EK colours that were available at the time.)
yeah

oh well people,
shes underway,
We've just pulled it all apart. and this weekend coming it'll be sand blasted back to bare metal.
Does anyone know the biggest wheels i can get under it? Standard
at the moment it has 15 x 7's on it
i wanted to go 17 x 7's but i think the inner lip of the wheel arch will stop me from doing this...
Any ideas? I dont want to roll the gaurds, it looks gay.
Cheers

Rowan it looks like from your photo that you have some rust free front floorpans so you may be lucky there.New pans are a pain in the a#se to fit.The rust around the rubber on the rear window is pretty typical.I'd say by your desciption of your FB and the parts that came with it and the price you paid that you definately got a good buy there.Good to see someone extra keen like you on your new found FB rebuilder.Keep us up to date on how its all going.
Terry.
Terry.
I can't think what to write here so this will do.
hands down, the FB\EK shape is holden's best car ever.
But its all personal opinion i guess.
I think i got a good buy, alot of people say at the price i paid for it, I near stole the thing.
lol
I'm going to try and keep everyone up to date, with pictures as well lol
Can you get repair panels to fix the rust in the back cil? Does any one know?
cheers
