from what i can recall there are two different ones, one has a section that goes forward (towards the radiator) around the harmonic balancer and then theres one that goes down in the same area ... i thnk the down one will hit your outrigger but the forward one wont.

I've got a big K Mac swaybar on mine that was on the car when I bought it.

It's near enough to an 1 inch or so thick and points to the front of car just above the outrigger and near the harmonic balancer.

When I lowered the front ( about 3 inch ) I found it was knocking against the outrigger at times.

To remedy the problem, I cut, shortened and reweld the "swaybar to lower control arm links" by about 2 inches or thereabouts.

That gave the sway bar "pointed bit" a different angle near the outrigger and stopped it from hitting/rubbing on the outrigger.

Hope that info helps,
I can't think what to write here so this will do.

when the car is sitting on the ground is the swaybar sections that go backwards are they parallel to the ground ?

if its not that then it may just be that you have the wrong bar ?
