Craig,

What you said about coolant temperature swings on warmup: My FC's got an improved head gasket and a three-row radiator core. Coming back from WA one year, I started off from Ouyen when the ambient temp was about ten degrees and saw the same thing. Coolant temp in the cylinder head went up to 90 degrees before the thermostat opened and let a "burp" of hot water through, but what replaced it was at about 40 degrees. Thermostat shut again and the cycle continued for maybe ten minutes until the temperature stabilised at the high 60s (70 deg thermostat). I wondered about a bypass system like what you've fitted. Thanks for actually doing it.

No worries Rob. It's always good to get this feedback as I sometimes wonder if at times I'm going mad with all the modifications I do when others don't seem to have an issue with theirs.
