I dare say Drew you have a bit more going on in your life than just your resto. I on the other hand, am a free ( but increasingly decrepit) agent😀.

I missed the bit where you spent countless hours blocking it back with guide coats and multiple layers of surfacer……..

That's the first coat of colour Clay. There will probably be 3 or more coats with wet and dry between, then 2 or 3 coats of clear with wet and dry between. Until I get first colour coat on I only use dry sanding with various sized blocks and for final primer use a medium cut sponge (picture a few pages back. Even though I used 2k primer as base coat and it is water proof, I don't like using water on acrylic primer 'cause it's porous.
I guess I could take a photo of me rubbing away with my blocks but I won't🤣
A disclaimer- this will not be a show car😁

Nah, just hang it off the roof and hold your tongue right. It's been on and off twice already😀.

Front back on yesterday morning. Belly popped in afterwards and we manoeuvred the back axle with it's shiny reco'd 3.36 diff onto the springs.
We also unloaded the 186 and bought it into the shed, where this morning it got some paint. A wee bit more to doImageImageImage

Question without notice: are there a range of engine mount plates for red engines? If so, is there a particular engine set that works best for a HR front end conversion?

They added some strengthening to the passenger side one for the xu1 I think but geometry is the same. They can be reversed and spacers swapped around but I font recommend it. You can also buy fabricated "turf mounts" but do t have any experience with them.
