Wilma FB project
Re: Wilma FB project
my bad - for some reason I thought they were up the B pillar
for some reason I ran the wires up the b pillar in my ute I think , unless I am thinking about the HQ-Z utes that I have built ......
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

All good, no bad. These niggly little questions being sorted helps the next poor bugger to get through these checkpoints too. Thanks again everyone for your ongoing support.

Re: Wilma FB project
My Melbourne FB ute ran up the b pillar. Adelaide ek van up the a pillar. With commercials b pillar is easy, apart from the foam stuffing. I recon my Adelaide ek standard ran up the b pillar, with no door switches. There was an oval shaped hole in bottom of pillars.

you can tell its not standard and that joseph owned it before you
Re: Wilma FB project
Thanks Scott. Today I ran it up the A pillar. No new holes needed, just a bit of patience. I am pretty confident that originally it did go up the B pillar because the cut wires when joined together were the right length and position for that to work. I can also vaguely remember that oval hole. I did a lot of metal work on the bottom of the B Pillars so reckon the original hole was not reinstated in my plate work. I started trying to get a feed wire down the B pillar but just could not get it to go through. So just lengthened the wires and worked it through A pillar. Thanks again for the photos and advice on this one. I need to keep better records of original fetures in future.

Boot rubbers. Is this photo showing the right placement of the rubber?

Re: Wilma FB project
Hi Brett, it looks like it needs to rotate a bit more than where you are holding it. Patrick

Re: Wilma FB project
The orientation is correct. Rubber sits square in the channel of course but yes tail of the comma pointing in to centre of boot.

Re: Wilma FB project
Thanks Patrick and Clay. Yes that's what I thought too. That photo was of the rear cut I had. Took the photo at the time as a later reference, but having a play today with Wilma's boot rubber I figured it was wrong. Lip should be facing in and standing up I hope. Rotated 45 degrees.

Re: Wilma FB project
I've heard a lot of blokes describe the way that seal fits, but that's the best description I've heard.
