Must have missed something. I suppose you are using a generic heater demister kit that comes with demister diffusers. Very interesting.

Taz, are you still going with the project. I have a question regarding the Engineer approval for the LS1. vsb14 states weight in KGS X 5 = CC for max engine size. EK 225 2490 lbs which is 1129.445 kgs. so 1129.445 x 5 = 5,647 ccs. The LS1 is 5.665 ccs.
did your engineer approve it because its so close it doesn't matter or di you satisfy the requirement some other way.
Ive just been knocked back for the LS1 engine due to that plus it then didn't meet the tonnage x 2 = max kw allowance.

NCOP (VSB14) is painful. You are right, for EK's (regardless of bodyshape) the maximum motor size is 5647cc. I'm running a 327ci engine. The motor selected has been bored 0.030” from the standard 4.000” diameter bore. With a bore and stroke of 4.030 inches and 3.25 inches respectively, this engine has a capacity of 5435cc, being 4% smaller than the recommended maximum engine capacity noted above. Is the "tonnage x 2 = max KW allowance" documented somewhere, or just a requirement from your specific engineer? There was talk of this requirement being introduced about 4 years ago, but as far as I know it was only rumour, and NCOP was not updated to include the requirement. At the time, it worried me as my 327 would not comply.

That x 2 = max kw only applied if the engine exceed the VSB weight x 5 factor. So your 327 has to be safe as it’s under that.
It’s a bloody pain, 5647 ccs allowed and an LS1 is only 5665. If the EK was 20 kgs heavier the LS1 is ok.
The Engineer said after we argued the cubic size problem he said he can go by tonnage x 2 for kw allowance. So that limits us to 220 kw. The LS1 I have is 295 kw.
Now the other point is, you have a 308 or a 327, vicroads etc have the capacity on file from the engine number. So if you put in a bored and stroked engine to say 355 cubes, how does the engineer or vicroads know. I’m sure they don’t make you pull a head to measure the bore and stroke, or do they?
