Diff rumble

Post by BIGREVNEV »

I have recently changed from 3.08 to 3.36 diff centre . Reco from Aussie diffs , but i,m not convinced all is well . It’s fine on aceleration & deaceleration but there is a rumble that happens only when there’s no load , in between back off & power on , i figure it must be in the diff as it wasn’t there before , any clues any one ,

I had a diff rumble like this once and it turned out to be a needle roller from the uni joint getting jammed up when the caps fell off.

When I put the tail shaft back in the uni was a tight fit in the flange, thought nothing of it but it didn't last long.

Did the caps come off when you changed it over ?
