I yanked the donk so I could weld up the engine mounts.

They were still a bugger to access, so the welds aren't as pretty as they could be, but they wont fall off.

Sorry about the bodgy photos, I couldn't see what I was doing there, either.

I should have dropped the front end out to weld them....oh well.

Welded in the tunnel and patched the firewall too.

Before I tacked it in I wiped the paint of from around the edge of the tunnel with thinners and wirewheeled around the edge of the floor again to make my life easier.

Image

Fully welded it.

Then touched it up with a flapper wheel.
Image

Ground the excess off on the firewall side.

Image

And sanded it up.

I knocked about 1/4 inch off the seamjoint while I was at it for a little extra clearance on the back of the motor.

Image

I ground the excess off underneath as well. What a turd of a way to spend an arvo...

I will seamseal the lapjoint underneath after I have wirewheeled the rest of the floor to keep moisture out.

Barely touched it for 3 weeks, Ive had other shit keeping me busy.

I have stripped the trim off the seat to modify it as it hits the shifter, but that's about it.

Updates will be coming soon.

I finally got to get a start on the rust repair to the subframe today.

Image

Started out with this....dunno who made it, Mick supplied it with the car, but it didn't go close...over 1/4 inch too deep.

Image

Who ever makes them needs to be shot.

Piss poor repo parts shit me to tears.

Anyway, I cut it and shut it.

Image
I trimmed it 3mm more than this pic, the first cut wasn't enough...

Image

Image

Made this bit for the front.
Image

Got the side piece to fit.
Image
The weld is horrible, Im gunna slice it out tomorrow and do it again.

There are holes drilled everywhere so I can plugweld it too.

Vicegrip display module....
Image

Pics of it finished tomorrow.

Sorry for the lack of pics, I got distracted working.
