EK morphs into pillarless Coupe .
Mmmmmmm
I had thoughts like that but after the first kid that all went out the window, I already had a kid unfriendly car I didn't need another! Decided to stick to the original plan, good reliable daily.
Harko keep at it it will be good to see it finished.

Speed and Style........... One day I'll get the speed bit.

Great work, love the enthusiasm.
Thought i'd chuck up a comparison.
Doors lengthened 5 1/2''
Body length shortened 5 1/2''
Roof chop 2 1/2''
Flattened the floor for a lower ride.
Rear panels where the back doors are come from a ute.
Should be more pics in Tinas Topless Two Door FB of the chassis strengthening.
Dont be in too much of a hurry, i was once told 90% is in the thinking!!
Hope it helps.

Thanks for the motivation yet again guys ,Its helping greatly but Im just deflated at having to work my life away again
for someone else
I dont know if I will get much progress this week but Im still keen as mustard .
I spent yesterday arvo looking at how Im going to get the rear of the roof lower the simplest way - I had to go have a think about it and tonight after spending the day at the beach I was relaxed and had come to terms with having to add some back in of what Id cut out ,I can see the road ahead clearly .
Trying to cut every curve in the centre or at the most suitable position is the ticket to cutting a roof I think ,
I hope to have it welded up within 2 weeks so
Ill try not to mess up another deadline.
Mate we all love Tina's car ,heaps of thought in that one huh!
How did you get it through rego with 5 inches taken from the wheelbase ?
And believe it or not Im trying to keep this simple
I would like to drive it not build it hehe
Another glitch with the chop is that by dropping the front screen 2 inches I thought I could still cope with a cut down screen with pulled in pillars ,But 3 inches just wont cut it ,Ill have to split the roof down the guts or atleast through the front support and pump it so that the roof looses some of its crown .
My calculations are from when I chopped my ute ,I took out 4 1/2 inches and had to put a strip in the roof 52 mm (sorry for the reference to metric and imperial but chops cant be talked of in metric - thats not cool
)
So 2 inches from the pillars should be a band of 26mm - thats 13mm each side that the screen would be too wide ,I thought this could be handled with sealant / gluing it in / and cutting rubbers etc.
I guess 3 inches out of the pillars will be 39mm which wont go , I could pull some crown from across the roof and use a different fitting with the screen
Two different ways to cut a cake hey ,I just havent oxy hammered before and am scared of warpage
with no one local I know of to gain some tips on it. Practical tips ,I get the theory but wanna see it happen
Thats awesome - its a perfect website

if you think of doing suicide doors chek with yor engineer, when i was doing mine, Mr roberts was doing my egineers and he was VERY easy going and wouldn't have it suicide doors that is
mine was chopped 3" at the front we only manipulated the pillars to fit we used lexcan and as far as i know it now has a glass front windscreen but don't know any more that that
come to think of it it's due to be for sale again see it every 2-3 years for sale

Ok theres 3 inches in the front and I just dropped the rear by an inch , "Happy happy joy joy" ,Now I have to get the jigsaw to fit back together.

Theres a new cut and join just above the rear screen if no one noticed

Whats the thoughts on rounding over the top of the front door like a chev and using the drop curve on the top of the rear door in reverse ,so it gives the effect of a 57 Chev beautie line but Holdenised ?
Yeah mini I better pay you for it soon or you'll have rights to it
Dunno why but I will one day suicide the doors on my ute but I dont fancy it on the coupe ,Mr Roberts - is he the one who doesnt like welds ground down ? or the older guy who rides a bike ,If its the older bloke he retired a while ago

Man O Man,
Things have been a happening in the development stakes , whilst I have been away.
Harko she's a lookin good mate. Great idea for the roof line, to try and flatten it out a bit, rather than the straight chop. It will look good if you delete the rear section infill between the rear window and the door ( the triangular section that the stainless trim piece attaches to) like you've done in the photoshop pics.
You'll have to give me your address so I can come over for a beer and bo peep.
Regards John
