New diff is in 31 spline billet axels LSD centre, 3.08 + 411,s

Have a few issues with the alternator hitting the sub frame? checked a picture Harv sent me and looks like he has plenty of clearance?

I have two alternators the new one is 135 diameter the old one is 125? Anyone have any advice hear?

Not real keen to cut the sub frame as its very close to the cross member

Cheers

That's the type I was saying my mate had on his '67 four door pillarless running the 400 cube Gaz.
The alternator sits closer to the block and slings under the rail.
Making your own from those specs is a lot cheaper than the shiny U.S. made in Mexico crap!

Spoke to John at Gasoline Alley in QLD today, top bloke very helpful.

He informed me that they used a Toyota 4Y alternator with some slight mods on Gasman's Beaut 350 powered Ute (sends his regards Dave)

Will have a look at the wreckers in the morning, they are 75 amp, sounds better that 50 on the mini units.

Hi Gazza,

did you want me to take a few pics of the alternator???
I can put it up on the hoist and get some shot from the under side. my rail has the lip cut off, that gives it about 12mm clearance. The alternator also has had a section trimmed. i can email some shots thru..

cheers

Had a look at some wheels for the wagon today mmmm Wagon wheels

I have always wanted some SS Cragers so I am leaning towards them although I like the coloured smothies (maybe a camel colour with the chrome) The car will be pale blue with a white roof.

15 inch is the biggest I want to go, I need wheels to get the wagon of the rotiserie.
