Meant to say before...the guy who signed off on all the mods was a decent cat. Was helpful, positive and keen to see old cars on the road. Said he had no hesitation knocking back poorly modified cars, but very happy to put his name to jobs well done. Asked a very fair price too. I'd recommend him to anyone in Brisbane who is looking for an engineer for their projects.
PM me if you want a name and number.

Very nice work !

I am liking the colour - it is nice to see a straight car in the same colour as mine, seals the decision to keep mine the same colour - thanks !! :D

Looks to be a great daily, I have a LONG way to go to get there ..... but just got the OK from the local council to build a new garage, that should help with my build !!

Looks good!
You say it's not low enough so how low is it now and what springs have you fitted? I want to lower mine but not to much asI live out of town and the roads aren't the best.I was thinking 1-2 inches max.

hi the 2inch lowered springs in my ute needed grinding and welding .top wish bones clashed with bush tower plus u need more shims and longer bolts for suspension.
cut your rubber bumpstop in half .hit a few holes you will know it.bit of a rough ride .wheels scrub sometimes turning on sloping driveways.i did the springs thinking
they would work .now i know why they made drop spindles. :x put some body stiffeners in makes the car feel so much better.

The HR front end has lowered springs (I think they were 2" from memory) sized for my EH ute which is what the front end came out of. The springs themselves were pretty new and in good condition so we decided to re-use them when re-building the front end and just see how low it sat once it was in the EK. Now that it's in there, it's lower than stock but not low enough for my liking. It doesn't look bad but doesn't look great either. It needs to be lower, and hell, I can put up with a slightly rougher ride...have been doing it for enough years in all my cars that I'm pretty used to it. If I'm really itching for a nice smooth ride I can always go for a spin in the wife's Magna...
Have thought about, and might just do, the drop spindles at some stage down the track, but right now me and money are distant cousins at best. The conversion tore a big hole in my pocket and pretty much everything we can save at the moment is going towards a trip to the US in September .
Cheers, Scott

Scott, I used HT stubs on my Wagoon to get another 19mm of drop but still have that inch of travel.

Hey Theo...I'll send you a msg at some point over the next day or two. May just be interested in that option. Hadn't really considered it, as I thought my only option re. spindles was CRS.
