Steve, I have sent you a PM regarding doing an update on the register.
Last one looks like it was 3rd November 2009.

With multiple copies, I just need to keep the register in sinc.
Email back when your available.

HI Finny, sent you the update yesterday, though, just added a few more from the site. Will send that one through now.

Over 400 entries now ... :D  :D

Been having a look through my O/H shed updating a few pics and the more I see them the more I love Desert Glow and Royal Glow  were they ever a combination?? Im not sure I'd want a car with a Royal Glow body and Desert Glow flash but the other way round would be awesome. 8) 8)

Hi, I will my daughter to take some pictures of my ute ID tags up shortly (not very tech savy yet), but I also have a question?

On the firewall of my 1962 Silverton Grey ute it has a small second rectangular tag screwed to the firewall under the main tag with M56780 stamped on it? is this supposed to mean anything? or why is it there?

Ute was Adelaide built and assembled in Melbourne if that makes any difference?
also a point of interest, like some of the other utes on here it has blue tape on the original wiring loom under the bonnet.

Hi GP, Love to see a pic of your ID tag, together with the Chassis and engine number if possible (Pic not required for those).

As you may be aware, EK Panel Vans and Utilities continued on in production after the release of the EJ Holden (Sedan and Wagon) in July 1962. The vans and utes sometimes took on EJ colours like Silverton Grey. EK Vans and Utes were produce till the end of 1962 and offer some very rare colours indeed.

The small tag represents an EJ production, which when spotted, identify a post July 1962 EK. Also evident via pictures of these late EK's, is the lower mounted coil on the side plate when still fitted with the original engine.

The Tape on wiring is more related to Commercial vehicles. Though, I can't recall if this was an S.A thing only.

Thank you,

Steve

I know one thing about the blue harness tape - you cannot get it ANYWHERE  -I found a bloke in the US who would make me some - if I ordered 3000 rolls
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

Here you go, photo of my ID tag and car in current form.
We bought it about 12/13 years ago here in Perth. It was painted baby blue with dark blue flash at the time
when i stripped it for repaint i remember it was light spearmint green/blue with dark green flash
Would love to know more about the history of the car if you could please tell me what the tag numbers mean.
happy to give you the chassis number if you could tell me where to find it. not noted on rego papers
REGO states engine number as B90463 (is this original or the red 173???) where to find the numbers?
