hi all,
I've got some pics of a car I'm building- It's been off the road about ten years now and I'm getting stuck into finishing her off. I've had her since I was 18 and it's kind of turned into grandpa's axe-7 heads and 14 handles but I can't part with it! My brother calls it the anti-christ!
I'm fitting 80 series control arms front and rear and using coil overs
Thats kool, Im right into these things now, Ive got a &*#@ Courier 4x4, Ive lifted the body, suspension put 32" tyres on it, winch bar etc etc and roar through the bush in it every day I have off....... even thinkin sellin my EK to put a V6 into it. Seems I cant type in DROF????????
Cool 40
is that a 40 front diff or a 60 series
and are you gonna use that diff and hy steer or a double flipped arm for steering
or just go complete 80 diffs.
I'm also into 4bin and have had a few highly modified toys over the years
Thanks for the positive comments guys, It's a hilux diff in the front,I'm using complete hilux steering from diff to steering wheel- the hilux diff itself isn't the strongest but it allows me to set up everything (and make sure it's all going to work!) and when I bust that diff I can go 9 inch(I have a 9 inch for the rear). If I'm careful where I mount the steering box I hopefully won't need any after market hi-steer gear.
An interesting note though, hilux disc rotors are the same dia. as hq/z and they have factory twin piston calipers... I'm still yet to try and fit the calipers onto the stubs, If it works I'll post some pics

Hilux fronts are just as strong as 80 series, same 8 inch crown wheel, just reverse cut. the only weak point are the cv's which are the same as 40 and 60 series. I ran 38.5 inch tyres on a Hilux are didn't break alot of crown wheel and pinions.
