Getting back to the boot length. Owning a 59 Chev, I was familier with the different lengths of bootlids between sedan and coupe's. I went through my books to see what other year Chevs did. 58 also has the different length bootlids, but 57 's seem to all have the same bootlid. On a coupe and convertible, there is a wider panel between bootlid and window, than on the sedans.
So considering that a 57 Chev has such similar lines to a FB it possibly would not look 'wrong' if yours was left with a standard length boot lid.
Guess it's a matter of choice.
The Coupe is looking so good in the recent photos !!!

Thanks again for the replies all .
The bootlid will be extended because an 8 inch panel would seem a little large I think , Id love to go 4 inch either side but it seems the best way is to double the small panel at the rear of the window with the existing curve and bring the boot up to there .
After talking it over with hindsight I think the boot is going to look long , but only if you look at it .
I doubt it will jump out and say look at me Im long but it will look factory , well as factory as can be on a car with nothing left original .
Matchew I aint going to prang it and Im insuring it for a motza so if (god blessed father) it does get mangled it wont get written off .
Alistair - you thinking it looks good lately well I confess I enlarged the rear wheel to what Im planning later on .
But heres a freshen up , scary rust , This rust monster must have grew up down the back in the Broncs
