Just wandering if anyone would know approx cost to freight an engine from Sydney to Melbourne?

we freight stuff with them all the time.

they seem cheap enough

If you can get it on a pallet and to the depot you will save a few bucks.
I freighted a BB &*#@ motor from regional SA to Adelaide for $70 odd a few years ago, I'd hazard a guess at least $200 plus for Syd-Melb.
The trick is finding a sympathetic freight company.
Maybe look into other means such a Rail if the costs are too high.
