Hey Guys - finally got some brackets for my coolaride visor (thanks again V8EK4us!) My question is - how are they usually mounted? I am assuming you get a nutsert or something put in, but got to thinking today that that particular section of my car might be primarily constructed of fibreglass!

looks like it's allready been self tappered on there, if he didn't have the roof supports he may have had the problem i had with the van vbration causing the screws to work loose

A kind member of this forum donated the brackets, so now I just have to restore them and the visor and reattach it. The biggest problem I have with my wagon is I don't know where to start! Plus its hot up here and that is demotivating in the old garage!
List of stuff to do:
Brakes - they need love
Gears - don't feel right
Seatbelts - there are none
Remove exterior and interior railway green housepaint!
Replace chrome flash on front passenger door
Rust converter needed everywhere
Paint new 14inch steelies, get new whitewalls for them.
and thats just to stay ratty.

Hi Adam,
Just saw your post so I quickly took a photo of the visor position (the car the brackets came off).
Center it on the car and mark the rear holes (make sure the brackets are parallel with the centreline of the car. The visor is fixed to the roof and the A pillars with self tappers (As RB suggested), I didn't sent the screws 'cause they were pretty crappy looking. There was also a rubber gasket under them (also crappy as you can see in the pic).

Just notice I wrote "srew" on the photo instead of "screw"....... this will very helpful if you have a fury little "srew" on the roof

thanks for the info v8ek4us, will be helpful!
RB - I'm over it now, got what I deserved really, my punishment is all the shitty labor I'm gonna have to put in to get it done( i.e sanding shitty green housepaint off the inside and outside of the car). Watching some of the builds on here though mine will be easy in comparison.

Rat138 don't be too hard on yourself, you've learn't a lessen that most of us have had to learn including myself.
Don't buy sight unseen..... caveat emptor... buyer beware.
At least you'll gain some skills by having to do repair work, I suppose thats one way of looking at it.
