Rego worries

Post by 60FB »

Hi all,
It looks like I have lost my FB's ID/ Compliance plate (factory one)
Does anybody know if this will be a drama when it comes time for rego and if so what needs to be done? I figured I would ask here before getting the run around at the RTA.
Cheers Nick

Hi Nick.I just looked at my rego papers(R.T.A, N.S.W) for my EK I've just bought and under VIN/Chassis number they have used the subframe number as the identifying number. This number can be found stamped into the drivers side subframe skirt in the engine bay.Yours will obviously start with FB...... It can be hard to find sometimes as it is not usually a deep stamping and the letters/numbers are therefore hard to read.
The compliance plate you mentioned is only a body plate and not a compliance plate as such like later vehicles.
Hope this helps,

Terry.
I can't think what to write here so this will do.
