Ek Wagon. Time to tackle the rust :D :D

well its about time to start stripping the old wagon. has a fair bit of rust but we'll try and save her. getting too rare to throw to scrap these days. pics of it can be found here

As you can see, there is a fair bit of cancer...... but...... anything is fixable

Go for it Mick at least you can get rid of the really rusty
hanging panels like the tail gate gaurds doors and replace
them with better non rusty panels new floors and the rest
is fixable as you said
just stock up on mig wire and sheet metal
look forward to seeing some pics mate

if yor happy to do it good on you, and yes they are getting thin on the ground, but it's going to be a BIG job i'm sure you could get a better body

Have you got any history on it Mick?
Looking at the earlier pics (in the other thread) got me thinkin' that maybe this was owned by some waxheads??? looks like it has have saltwater running over it from unrinsed surfboards

Will be a big job, but will be worth it in the end i think.
No history on the car. a friend of mine saw it in a panel beaters front yard in Morwell, country VIC. could see a bit of the rust from the road, but, it was cheap enough so i bought it. now i've started stripping it i keep finding whole sections that are made of bog
All i know is it was owned by an old bloke for years and years, always parked out side, and at some stage he decided it needed a nice coat of brush applied house paint
Should keep me busy for a while anyway

im going to be starting on the ute in the near future and im not sure to be happy mine has not got that amount of rust or to be scared it has and i just dont know about it yet

atleast yor not blind to the fact that it could be there

i've seen some cars that look real good but i knew what lurked beneath and some were done by shops
