Also don't mix it in the pot, get a container to mix in.

cool, thanks guys. why gravity feed? is it easier? does it give a better/deeper finish? i know, i'm sounding really dumb, but better to ask than stuff it up.

I have only used a suction gun before, and had no problems. :D :D

Doesn't gravity have an open top :?: :?: More likely to drip if doing roof's, etc. :? :? Or I could be totally wrong on that one   :|

gravity vs suction

Gravity is the way to go.
As far a painting a roof goes you dont have a pot hanging down to drag across the roof when painting
Never had any problems with dripping
Just buy a good brand

Nup has a lid. As for size from my piss poor memory I think it was 1.8mm for acrylic top coats and 2.0mm and up for putty/primers. But I could be wrong it was a while ago I was told this.

Paint and alcohol maybe devilrod...!

Acrylic tip size, dunno, i dont use it but I have a 1.4mm and thats fine for metallics and clear so it would be fine for acrylic. If you wanna spray primer, go bigger like 1.8 or 2... my flake gun I think is 2.5, which would also be able to take polyester.

Gun I use is an Iwata W400. Might be a bit pricey if you just want to muck around but have a look on ebay and let us know before you make a purchase.

G'day matches, i have a Sata Jet 90 gravity fed spraygun for sale at the moment, was going to ebay it but if your interested i'll wait, Sata is one of the best brands you can buy, when new was $650 this gun was used in a one man workshop for about 2 years so only got used bout two to three times a week if that, it has a 1.3 tip and lays the clear down like glass :D , is in excellent condition.
Price is $250 plus postage
