Guys n girls,
I have some tasman type rims that could do with new outers - one in particular has an excellent center, but a boat anchor for an outer...
Has anyone had any success with having new outers fitted? these are the rivetted type, 14" x 6"
Any advice would be appreciated
Matt

Gday Matt
When I had my old Herbert mags rebuilt,
We found that the old rims were to an imperial measurement on the inside diameter. (where the center is pushed into)
The new rims I replaced them with are made to a metric size, and were slightly larger internally.
I had to build up each spoke with weld, and machine them back to fit the larger new rim.
It would pay to take careful measurements of what you have, and
check with your rim supplier about their internal measurements.
If the old rims can be saved & rechromed it would save you some trouble.
You might get lucky though and its not a problem.
Cheers
Jeff
