I have been considering replacing the chrome mouldings on the sides with chrome body mouldings (that come is rolls). I was going to change the angles and thought this would be the easiest option. Plus the original clips have rusted away on most panels.
Has anyone used them before, or know where they can be sourced. Bodyline make some I believe, otherwise all the others would have to be ordered from the US. Not sure how they would go where the doors go as to catching on the adjacent panels. The original ones are lower in these areas.

i think i saw them use this stuff on american hot rod once, but that is all the knowledge i have of it
have you thought about moulds off another car?
someone else on here had a problem with clips once before, they wanted to replace what i thought to be a novel idea which was fill the moulds with bog sand flat and use double sided tape
another approach would be sikaflex but you would destroy the moulds if you ever had to remove them again

Hey Nekro63, I have seen this elsewhere. Was it a special creation? Does anyone know what was used.
I don't have all the door moulds needed to do original, so I'm still looking to create something different, along the chevy lines. Have been playing with some ideas and prefer this style at this stage, don't know the colour yet.

I'd like a chopped version, but that's just dreaming at this stage.

Hey finny, Its just chrome tape thats used on bumper bars like commodores and stuff. It comes in big rolls and you just cut off how much you want, looks pretty good.
Not sure where you get it from but call a smash repairs place maybe...
The end pieces on that car are actual chrome metal bits, dunno what there off, theres no joins where it dips down and the stars would be from customlines or holden special or a pontiac, whatever...

G'day Finny....
Another way of attacking the chrome mouldings are to airbrush a set straight onto the body (no need to drill holes either!
).
I did this 'flash kit lookalike' on Space Ace's sedan using micro metallic silver as a base & highlighting it with pearl blue, black & white for shine. see attached photo circa 2007 Nat's....

Hey Scotty, how low is that Sedan of SpaceAce's?
It looks like it would be rubbing on the front
A lot
I'm looking to lower mine, with Mags, but I don't want to go too far and have issues hitting the guards. Didn't know if 2" was enough, But think 4" will be a problem. Wondering if 3" is a good compromise.
