1970 HG Sedan Front End.. EK Compatible?

Post by DeadSled »

Heres the deal.. i can get a HR Wagon for $1500.. and use all of the driveline for my EK.. but then i found a HG Sedan in the paper for $800.. it'd probably have a 186.. possible manual.. is the front end the same style as the HR.. being bolt in with minor mods? Or is it like the HQ onwards style front end which is all one peice with the subframe?

It is similar to a HR front end , but will not go anywhere near fitting under an FB/EK  different mounts, different width, etc etc etc.
Go the HR front end route, its the easiest way to go.
What good bits are on the wagon? Are the mechanicals all in good nick or are they due for a birthday? If its in good condition MAYBE $1500 is a good deal - if its all flogged out or just plain old then $1500 could be a bit steep.
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

Hi Nick,
Blacky has nailed it and you have just answered your own question - I might suggest posting something on the HD/HR site for others to share your fortune (expense).
