Lots of luck

Not a lot of tasteful custom rear lights have been done on FB EK Holdens.

HQ to WB wagon and ute lights were used a bit in the 70's and 80's for some reason.

Rob Walker from Queensland restyled his sedan in the 80's with a totally different look, and custom made tail lights.
Later he extended the 1/4 panels and refitted stock lights.

Pick something and do it!

HQ - WB? What were they thinking? That would look hideous..

I've seen the extended fins and stuff.. but then you have to incorporate indicators somewhere.. ehh..

I like the Buick lights i've seen em on a wagon on here somewhere.. but otherwise haven't seen anything i've liked yet.

What were they thinking? How great they looked.
You had to have been around when past trends were new to understand.

Its just like now, with people tring to imitate a lifestyle and car culture that never existed. They think everything happening in their world is great.

The wagon you mentioned is on OZRODDERS in an Australian customs post.

You have to be inventive, solve problems relating to what you are trying do.
That is what Customizing is about.

Otherwise wait for someone else to do it and then copy the idea, like so many people do. Thats the easy way out of a problem.

I didnt say I liked them.

But sometime trends just start, and people follow because they know no better

you can't really do custom tail lights on a FB/EK sedan/wagon as the body doesn't suit it
the only thing i've seen that i like is the custom/aftermarket beehive lenses

Looks good - I reckon a set of `55 Chev taillights would suit as well.
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

good but the FB/EK 1/4 is shaped to the rear light assemblies and looks strange when altered, you could possably fit FE/FC 1/4's but i still don't think it would work :?

Wow like the way the chrome is swooping down as well. Its very much like what Rob Walker did to his EK in its first stage(mind you that car had many stages) 8) 8)

Between me and another fella earlier.. we came up with the idea of keeping the original tail light housing chrome but painting like 10mm inwards from the panel edge.. and then smoothing the gap so it appears as all one panel.

I'm gona get another set and paint them completely to give it the frenched sorta look.. and see what i prefer.

Good idea, but it wont work.

No matter what you do to bond or blend the tail light housing to the body it will move and crack along the join line.
