Hey Retro, I'm sure I've got one of those sitting around somewhere. It is a used one and I don't know its condition but you can have it if you want.

Hi Retro,
please excuse my ignorance - is your car an original concept?
I'm pretty sure you'll get a replacement voltage regulator - there must be heaps of them around...................

If not and you do not mind running updated equipment - you may fit an alternator with an inbuilt reg............... with these it is basically down to two wires - one from the alternator output terminal to the battery positive - the other small wire goes direct to the "Gen" light in your instrument cluster - that's it.

You will have to isolate some of the existing wiring and run a fairly heavy lead from the starer solenoid to the spliced two-wire red leads (marked B+ on the old voltage regulator) for the vehicle's main supply.
Other two wires are for the purpose of regulating the supply from the generator............

If you want to stay orig - one will pop up, every confidence in it.

Retro,

I have about half a dozen of these in spares - you're welcome to any one that gets you back on the road.

Will bring them round when I come to pick up the tasmans

Cheers,

hold tight mr bear, the auto elec was wrong, it was actually a fault with the generator he rebuilt for me a year ago, ive replaced that, it seems fine, but have not driven the car since, so it will remain in top condition for the wedding and maybe an ebay sale.

Thanks anyhow matty,

Ps dont use the tasmans as an excuse to come over and drink booze, you more than welcome to come over any time old chap.....
