Custom FB/EK coupe ute concept

Post by Brown Bear »

This ones been in the back of my mind for some time now, so I thought I'd put pencil to paper and put the idea out - maybe it's been built before or perhaps someone could photoshop up a more accurate version?

Image

Probably alot harder than it looks - the rear half of a sedan roof and upper rear doors onto a ute body - but I'm sure it'd be something else if it were done!

Perhaps a roof chop to balance the look?

i think it would look better than the poor FB on Ebay as the longer rear ute body may balance it a bit. IMO.

Would be certainly something different to see, perhaps if a photo-shop guru could give us a teaser it would certainly be cool to see. Even trying sedan lights on the ute too.

The ebay coupe? ha ha!, I was waiting for someone to say that...

A photoshop example might do it better justice, or perhaps Sputzwagon could improve on my kid's club sketch?...

Sedan tail fins on a ute just don't seem to work for me, as they seem to create a sharp unbalanced end.

Anyways, I doubt very much that this creation will get beyond the crayons - at least in my hands!

There's one being built here in Qld at the moment but its a crewman ute using a wagon body and ute tub. The roof is using the ute back window don't think its having a chop though.

I can't find any pics at the moment, but someone made a sort-of ute out of a sedan. Got rid of the rear doors and stretched the boot lid/quarter panels forward. It looked pretty good too, but I think it needed ute doors to really pull it off.

The square top of the sedan doors clashed with the curve of the roof and the sedan rear window.

Someone put in a lot of work on this custom, and achieved some thing very individual

Have only seen a couple of photos of it.

Anyone got some they can post

With the slope of the roof, it looks like there maybe a headroom issue when in the driving position. Looks a little bubbly.

Yep,roof looks like the roof on that FB Coupe that Bob and Evelyn were trying to sell and pay their house off with the proceeds ( Remember the "Bob and Evelyn Show" on Evilbay a few months back ).

I'm sure Harko would be able to do something with the roof conversion.

I think this works a little better.... :D

Recessed rear quarter window would take some effort, but at least you could run with the original front flipper windows, as well as leaving a bit more head room :)

...and it doesn't look like that coupe anymore!
