Always loved the FX/FJ, not sure about the headlights on the first one, but I do love them stock or modified , Trev .

i've had my eye out for one just got to be in the right place at the right time
the bloke that helped with my V8 conversion has 3 a stock FX that had been in a shed at the back of american auto parts for 20 odd years, an FJ with a roof chop that's getting an injected 400 small block for nostalgia drags, and a half done red motored one pretty good body old style mags disc front etc that he picked up for $500

Yes I did miss that, I think the head light treatment took the focus away , Trev .

that second pic is teasing me.... I scored an fj six weeks ago and ive been thinking coupe or chop top, and red is my colour too. Dad wants the body to create a convertable.

And the last one is almost a replica (except colour) of my first old j.

Im with trev on the first pic, the lights are to jap for me.

Hey guys, I to am quite fond on the old FJ, infact thats where I cut my teeth so to speak with cars.
Some may have already seen this old girl. It was my first true love until I sold it to buy a house. Shes somewhere down south now at a town with a German sounding name just can't think of the name. Would love to have it still sitting in my shed.

you can see where yor skills came from, although there's a few dodgy options by todays standards huge padding on the dash,wooden dash and the biggy 12 SLOTTERS :shock:but when the car was done they would have been THE options to have at the time
but generally a good looking thing

The red chopped FJ in the first photo was originally built by the Webster Bros for a customer.

Originally green and unchopped, with a supercharged six

I was later asked to chop it but declined as I was too busy at the time.
The then owner found someone else to do the job and it was repainted a metalic grey
But I repaired the boot lid for a new owner in the late 80's

Since the early 70's I have owned over 20 FX FJ Holdens, and built a few more for customers

At the moment I am building a very different one for a customer, the artwork for it is in the latest Street Machine.

Malcolm, love the fuel tank , but what were you thinking with the 12 slotters!!??!!??

Come on guys, I did build this car about 24 years ago
Slotters were the ducks nuts back then.
Just for a bit of info on the car, when I sold the car it was bought
by OAK milk for a promotion. Then at the end of the promotion
it was given away as a prize. The bloke that won it put it in a
garage and left it sit there for 5 years not being used . Finally
it was sold, then sold again and finally ending up being bought by
a family of FJ lovers down south.

i said it would have been popular at the time
i'm pretty sure you wouldn't do it today
i even had 12 slotters once
lets hope this stuff never comes back in fashion anybody seen the price of tasmans,US racers and other '70's type stuff lately

Yes if only one was to keep all the stuff that's now worth a fist full of money.
And yes I guess in another 20 years people will be saying "I can't believe you put BOYD CODDINGTON wheels on your car"
