wiper shafts

Post by fraze »

The wiper actuating shafts, behind the dashboard, have a nylon/plastic bush at each end. the bushes on my wipers are worn out and i would like to replace them. Has anyone got a fix for this? Thanks, Fraze

Yes, get a EH wiper brush kit from Rare's. Take out the plastic ball bushings in the kit and you will find the plastic ball brushing will snap into your EK wiper arm and then file down the top ball section of this clip until you can fit your wiper arm holding clip on. Sometimes you have to enlarge the centre hole in the clip so the shaft can fit in. Don't worry if you file the ball down too much just use a shim washer. Lube and no more floppy arms.

Theres a bloke on Facebook who sells FB/EK ones , about $20 a set , I bought a couple of sets off him but havent tried to fit them yet - my ute needs them done.
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.
