hi all,
Has anyone got four or five 6 x 13 inch fb rims (for standard drum brake set up) for sale? Maybe moved to mags and have spares lying around?
Many thanks.

Well, there are a set of 2 sixes and 2 sevens on ebay currently but I wanted all 6 inch. I ended up buying a set of 6inch jelly bean mags instead!
These will go on the warm grey motored EK ute (project 2) next year. For the (I swear I will finish it before xmas

) sedan, I bought 5 cross plys to go original. I was hoping to put r80 13 tyres on sedan but getting steels made using my centres that fitted hubcaps was going to cost $1200 and the bands are imported from US and are currently not available anyway, meaning a long wait. So, going original made sense and keeps in context of my aim for this car. Fernando Yellow wheels here we come!

Woah thatβs crazy $1200! Anyway will look god with the crossplys and if you want to go tarmac rallying you will have the ute.

New tyres arrived yesterday. I didn't twig at the time, but they are radials that are similar dimension as the cross ply originals. I was thinking that they were cross ply tyres until they arrived yesterday.

This is a perfect tyre to use for 4.5 inch original rims. $275 from Antique Tyres.

And that's $275 each?
Given the choice between a more expensive, but correct profile tyre, or 185/70R13s from Nankang, well, it was hard to beat five for $450. And the added bonus is that I could wind the guys at the bike shop up and say that I can get tyres for my car cheaper than for my pushbike. Same goes for brake parts too . . .

They look rather good Brett. Agree with Rob that they are rather pricey. Do the nankangs come in 185/80/13 Rob?

I guess pricey is dependant on what you're trying to achieve. I wanted either 80 profile radials or original size cross ply because that is the modern size that matches the original car. I have already invested heavily restoring the original diff so tyres that fit the rim but not the engineering are not for me.

Yep. Understood. And you've paid the money to get your original ratio diff restored.
My FC's diff had a leaking pinion oil seal, loose pinion flange, and munched-up pre-load shims. And I'd never found a 3.89 completely free from gear noise, so I binned it and for $100 slotted in a 3.36.
Clay - if Nankang offered a 185/80R13 I'd be very happy.

They look like Bridgestone super cats to me. Reckon the nankangs are LT also?

I guess the point of all this was centred on not being able to put 185 radials on 4.5 rims. For the ute with its non standard 6inch mags (or chromes) I have Sumitomo 185 r80 13 and very happy to have them. They just aren't an option unless you change rims. Hence the post which I'm now starting to regret

searching for wider rims that hubcaps fit.....
The tyres I posted are radials that fit 4.5 inch rims for those that are looking for that option. The first I have seen anywhere.
For everyone else with non standard rims there are quite a few options which we are all aware of I think.
