Andrew's fb - the transformation to Colleen

Post by FB wannabe »

Hello all I thought I would share the news that FB wannabe is dead....... Because I bought one :D :D 8) . It's the one of ebay, Now don't be too judgemental from these photos, from what I can tell she has had a rough trot for the past 6 months, she was used as a daily for years then sold of when the dude lost his job and couldn't afford to fix the clutch (yeah it's stuffed). From there a older couple bought it with the intention t fix it up but decided to spend the cash setting up their new holiday home. It sat outside under a car cover for about 4 months till I bought it. I had only just got it home and she was in need of a damn good clean.

On Sunday I spent about 3 hours on her and gave her a good wash, polished up all the chrome on the outside and started to give her a cut and polish. It was a very rewarding 3 hours and now I refer to this car as a diamond in the rough, I couldn't be happier with the way she is cleaning up and will post more pics when I feel she is ready. Wow I really can't believe that I own one of these, I have wanted one for 15 years. It's going to be the best summer of my life. 8)

Might be time for a name change, FB wannabe doesn't fit the bill anymore :P

Thanks for the comments. As for plans I don't really know, I am keen to keep it original but everybody is in my ear to put a HR front end/ red motor in it but for now I just want to get it on the road and drive it. Regardless of diveline the plan is to do it up old school - spats, whitewalls, sunshade, steelies with hubcaps, and possibly venetions. The car is all original except for the blue paint, is was grey with the white flash.

Hey Dave is there a cruise on this weekend ? I didn't know. It won't be ready though still needs alot of cleaning and then there is the clutch  also she is not registed.
