Coral EK FNQ

Post by steveo »

Hi , I recently bought this EK in FNQ.
I was born the same year this rolled off the production line and owned the same colour combination back in the early 80's. ( Barrier Coral,Pyramid Coral I think? ). I have an electricians knowledge of mechanical issues ... so find info in the forum very enlightening ..
The car reasonably stock.. has had generator, carburettor, ignition coil changed out... original parts were in the boot with the mudwasps and mice. All the rubbers are perished , original interior is all there but reasonably cooked.Clock has 65000 miles.
It had paperwork for restricted area rego in Weipa and has stickers from Pizza delivery on the door. I would be interested to know if it has appeared on
or been owned by any of the forum members..looks like it had some love in the distant past , then some neglect ...
The intention is to locate missing bits and make it whole again , I have discussed this with the car at length.

Thanks for all the info ...

Nice one Steveo.

Is it going to take much to get it back on the road? How’s the rust situation and does it run?

Cheers,

John

Still digging but looks ok, surface rust parcel shelf , visor thing and small hole at front seat mount No doubt more as mud removed. It runs but haven't turned the key since transporting. Will get the professionals to do mechanical, brakes etc once cleaned up.

Nice score - looks to be pretty straight and solid from the pic - got any more ????
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.
