Hey gang,

Can you help a novice out! I've got an auto body EK Sedan its had a lot cut out of the front floor/trans tunnel I'm not sure if its had a V8 tranny hump put in or its factory! I've tried a number of requests for a donor car and have had no luck sooooooooo if I can find some kind Car fanatic on this forum to give me a picture of both a manual and an automatic body (front passenger area/transmission tunnel/lower firewall area) so I can compare with what I have. I also need to have a picture of the handbrake bracket (near the tunnel) so I have an idea as to what is missing. Thanks all the information on this website is sensational, I may well be after a tranny hump section depending on all of the information supplied

Cheers

If you need floor sections / trans hump give 'earlyengineering' a call,(0410639656) he's not far from you and might have what you need.

Errol,

Thanks for the quick reply the more I look at it the more I think that my lower firewall is the original auto body type but I'll post a pick to see what you reckon

That has to be an auto floor Todd. Never owned one unfortunately but it looks factory and it's not a manual. The manual has a one piece cross member running the floor width with a slight hump to clear the crash box extension housing. The handbrake mechanism mount bridges under the hump effectively surrounding the extension housing. On the auto but missing from yours there is a brace running between the two inner subframe mounts on top of the floor. The manuals have a removable cover to enable access to the bell housing.

I would be looking for a hump from a rusted out donor. They don't generally rust. No one makes a factory replacement as far as I am aware. The donor would be an easy install and accommodates popular transmissions such as trimatic and Aussie 3 and 4 speed all syncro boxes as well as original gear.

Have fun with it.

Cheers
Clay
