Post by Aussie Bob »

This is the one I took to the Nationals, that I am now not re-painting thanks from the feedback here on the site.

95% original paint, 62,000 Doc miles. Lilac Grey / Cathay Grey. Wacky rare trim.

Hi Steve,

I spoke to you at Berrima about this 'wacky trim'. One of these days, I will pass on some photo's of my old red wacky trim and the plate to compare codes.

That'd be great 61FB-S.

Where did you get that FB from with the wacky trim?

Well..... I bought it in 2003 from a lady in Rose Bay. She bought the car from the original owner who lived in the southern suburbs of Sydney, his first name - Percy. Unfortunately, I don't know which dealership it was bought from originally. I had intended to return it to it's former glory, however, after stripping it down I decided that the rust was too much to handle for my experience (very little) and I had no where to store it either.

A quick call to a scrap metal merchant saw the end to the dream but most parts were kept. These included the seats with 'the trim', however, my parents moved house, there was definently no where to keep the parts and a large skip was filled within hours.

As I mentioned, the seats were literally 'chucked out' with in a few weeks of speaking with you.

I promise to pass on the details soon to assist in your research.

Thanks for your detailed reply. What a shame, oh well. A simular thing happened to me a while back & I lost a lot of great parts.

Russell Cooper had a White with Red insert FB with the same wacky red trim. I wonder if Russell got pics...
