Has anyone tried SBC block hugger headers or are you better if with the CRS ones that go out the inner guards?

Coopa,

I went with the CRS fenderwell extractors. They are 4-into-1, 1.65”x1’5” primaries to which I bolted a twin 2½” exhaust with “H” balance pipe. Sounds nice 8) .

Cylinder #8 (closest to driver) will have poorer flow capability due to the extractor design - it needs a tight bend to clear the steering column/rods. Depending on your setup, blockhuggers may well have the same drama. The CRS set bolt up OK, though as you can imagine they cut a pretty fair size hole in the inner guards (which my engineer now wants reinforced). You will need the hex-head extractor bolts to fit them as the holes are too close to the pipes for normal bolts.

Cheers,
Harv

Thanks Harv it was the guard cutout that was making me think about the block huggers as mine will get driven regularly and we have a lot of gravel roads down hime way I was thinking of all the rubbish that will go up through the hole, might have to look at a shield arrangement to protect from the rubbish coming of the front wheels

(Running a front mount LJ rack to HT column, 305 to VS V8 T5)
