V6 or SBC
As the title says what's peoples opinion vn v6 or SBC, I have most of the gear for the v6 option but now I'm uming and rrring about a SBC
So I know at the end of the day it's what I like but what do you's think is better in your opinion?

all depends when you say you have most of the gear for the V6 conversion, do you mean you have most of the normal commodore V6 stuff or you have most of the stuff that has to be fabricated when you consider there's quite a bit of stuff that has to be fabricated for the V6 and with the V8 a lot of the stuff you just use from another car I would lean to the V8 but i'de more than likely go holden V8

If you have the choice, go V8. Just as much fab/install/engineer drama as the bent 6, and more grunt (oodles more cool factor too ).
Micks right, if I had my time again I'd go Holden V8. I couldn't get a 350 past the engineers (despite quite some trying ), 327's are more expensive, and 307's not far behind. The "plastic" 308 is still (relatively) common, and plenty of go-fast gear from the 90's kicking around for them.

Harv,s right, building a 327 in Aus is hexy. Got my 327 from the states, very reasonable, bloke also does 283's. Import can be a killer if ya not careful.

I'm concidering a 305 chev, it's just been rebuilt (by a mechanic) he wants $900 Ono for it with most bits but I would need a box & I'm guessing my vn disc brake diff should hold up?

Your VN diff would be more than enough, I was told by the bloke that did my diff (vn LSD ) that it's more than ample for most V8's, if I was going to be doing massive pwr just to put billet axles in it

Thanks bumper I thought so as the v6 puts out 'generally' as much kw's as the 305, I've got the boss of finances on board now so just have to find a gearbox

If I had my time again Ide go a non efi 8. Half the fuel system, all low pressure fittings, bugger all wiring, half the stuffing around. Just my 2 bobs worth

Done complete 305 Chev purchaced only missing headers which I need to fabricatre new one's anyway, fired her up on a tire lol and runs well from what I could tell, now to find a gearbox and purchase my aluminium heads and cam.
Oh yeah and put the new outer sills on ummm damm be putting them off!!!
