Front Guard Rubbers

Post by Finny »

Was looking at a couple of photos showing cars with front guards removed.
And trying to understand where the rubbers/seals are needed.

I know there is a hard rubber mould that runs along the entire top of the engine bay sides, were the guards sit on top.
Plus a small (roughly 30cm) strip used at the back of the guards along the top section.
But it also looks like a strip running from top to bottom, down the back of the guard, closest to were the front doors attach.
I haven't seen it mentioned before, but can see that something was previously there. :?
I wonder if something needs to be installed when fitting the guards back on, and if so what others have used /thickness etc?
I don't see anything listed in any of the spare parts suppliers rubber lists.

Also, I have the rubber that runs across the grill section, near where it contacts the back of the bonnet.
Are there any other often overlooked rubbers that should be added, or a visual diagram showing where they all go? :? :? :esad:

The rubber that runs from top to bottom is part of the door frame rubber. When you buy a repo kit it doesnt have this.
Ask parisian 62 what he did. From memory he got some flat rubber and glued a piece on.
