HYDRAMATIC TRANSMISSION BREATHER

Post by BUTTONS »

Would any member of this club have any idea where the breather on a hydramatic transmission is located and what is required to remove it for cleaning.
I have a 1962 EJ Holden Special which has a tendancy lately to spray transmission fluid from the filler tube when on a long run. I have been told the likely problem is a blocked breather. Posts on the EJ EH Holden Club forum has not come up with an answer so I am trying your forum in the hope that one of the members may provide the answer.
Any help would be much appreceated.

If the breather is not there where can I get one to replace mine.? The manual does not really show it. Is it essential for the transmission to work properly? :?:
