The dealer that sold my ute new isn't on there
It was the demo vehicle at Kyle Motors in Kalgoorlie so even though I am only the second owner i am probably the 592nd driver

Dealer no 355 Ramley Motors is actually spelt Ranley ...........The name comes from the 3 dealer principals....
R is from Laurie Rudolph....
an is from Ben Zanker
ley is from Goeff Levesely
I worked there from 1977 till 1996 under 2 different owners and 2 addresses and a name change to Lind-Weight Holden then back to Ranley Motors again ......Fingers

Is the 3 digit dealer code the number in chalk under the bonnet??

Mine has 216 on there and not sure what it means ....


I have read that some of the 200 series numbers were GMH promotional ones ....

I believe my car was brought new in Canberra and maybe from Beasley and Bruce but i found numbers for them in the 400 range....
I also found dealer 217 is GMH PR use perth W.A.

I guess mine might have just been a Canberra demo / PR model or something.

Hi Tim~ is that were they put it under the hood in that spot?

Im not looking for mine to be special ...more just trying to work out where it might have been sold from.

I gave the engine bay another wash over the other day and i washed under the bonnet around the numbers .....if its an original bit of scribble i think i will leave it there for interest sake .... might try and seal it so i can soapy wash it but not wash it off.
