Tasmans Welding.
Is there anyone thats changed stud patterns on old alloy wheels by way of welding and redrilling the holes.Iknow the effort, but i luv the old skool look and found a nice set of14'' tasmans,Thanks, Gaz.
Re: Tasmans Welding.
probly easier and safer to change the stud patter on the car to suit the wheels
what stud pattern are they ? early valliant are very close to early holden so you may be able to modify the holes

Re: Tasmans Welding.
I can't imagine its that hard to drill them. Make a template out of cardboard and then steel. Make sure its accurate and it lines up with the centre hole so you know it centred. Clamp the template on.
Then drill it through.
Then drill it through.
Re: Tasmans Welding.
Anyone with a half decent mill can drill a rim - I did a set of 15 x 10 Hotwires a few years back and its not that hard , the problem these days is public liability etc.
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

I know what your say'n,believe me i've tried sourcing one,if all else fails i'll use a pedestal drill, but inthis game i've learnt to be patient .Blacky wrote:Anyone with a half decent mill can drill a rim - I did a set of 15 x 10 Hotwires a few years back and its not that hard , the problem these days is public liability etc.

Mark it out on steel first, forget about the cardboard.bootlegger wrote:I can't imagine its that hard to drill them. Make a template out of cardboard and then steel. Make sure its accurate and it lines up with the centre hole so you know it centred. Clamp the template on.
Then drill it through.
Its an extra step that can only increase any error in marking out.
