Lucy Blue

Post by Lucy Blue »

Lucy was my first car a Marine blue EK Sedan

I have found some photos of her, memories of times past, my youth when I was waiting for the fun time to happen. I didn't know that that was it.

Throughout my youth Lucy was with me for 14 years. I bought her when I was 17 and paid $2200 for her, my old man spewed thats partly why I kept her so long, to annoy him

I would still have her but she was written off in 1997 and I lost my knee to the steering column.

here are some pictures

Looked like a very nice tidy original you had there and yes, a pity it is now just a bunch of parts in someones shed but these things happen.
At least your still alive!

Totally agree with the comment "memories of my past, my youth when I was waiting for the fun time to happen.I didn't know that was that."

Yep,your 17 but you don't even realise at the time that you are in your "fun times".You still have fun when your older but its a different fun and your perception of fun changes.

I think for me at least that I am reliving my youth by driving and enjoying the cars that were around when I was a kid and reliving those times to some extent as well.Just can't jump in that time machine and go back!
There are some things however that I would do differently if it was possible to go back in time.

I got the ton (100 mph ) out of my standard grey powered FC wagon I had when I was 17,young and stupid, and a car full of my mates as well!!
Of course I was going downhill when I did it!!
I'm probably lucky to still be alive thinking back on all the things I did in my cars back then but I was young and invinceable and a "P" plate stood for "Professional", not "Provisional", in my eyes.
I only hope my 11 year old son doesn't get up to the same antics I did when he gets his licence in coming years but none the less still is able to look back when he is 40 at the fun times he had.

Terry.

I think I'm going to cry now!
I can't think what to write here so this will do.

not stock

Post by Lucy Blue »

Looked stock but had the following modifications Station Sedan rear springs, raised the back an inch, heavy duty shocks, EH wheel cylinders all round, extractors and 2 inch exhaust, Ute rims, Heavy duty radiator, H4 headlights with get this Heavy Duty Bosch generator! Heavy-duty gearbox with the double row rear bearing, mild cam and twin Stromberg carburettors jetted down. I ran triple Strombergs for 8 months but they were too much trouble the twins were a handful as it was, the head was ported and ran double valve springs, and the steel timing gear a ryco bypass oil filter and to top it off an alloy speco rockercover!

Last of all a Wayne Harrison mural on the ash try lid

I wound her off the spedo once going to Penrith

Wayne Harrison, I remember him form my vanning days (hang on, I still have vans) he did murals out of Freedom Fibreglass at Blacktown.

Ah the memories.....
