Red motor bare block

Post by dmulally »

Hi All,

I need to tack in some engine mounts and dont really want to use my complete red motor as I dont want to scratch it (just painted it all nice and grey) so was wondering if anyone from NSW, ACT or VIC (Lakes Entrance way) has an old short block that is in the way. Happy to trade beer, beer tokens or anything else I have lying around that they want to trade for. I dont care on condition as it will be chucked out once I am done.

I am driving from Central Coast NSW to Lakes Entrance through Canberra this weekend.

Cheers

Gday Starshine,

What a bugger, Ill be heading to victoria via canberra so Ill miss you it seems.

The 149 I got on your suggestion is a goer. Just picked it up from the engine builder on the weekend in fact. Im so amazed at how cheap it all was. New pistons, new camshaft, reco crank, new everything else and bored out to 157 and so clean you could eat off it. All up I have change from $2500 which I could never do with a grey. Very happy chappy.

Mate, that's really kind of you but I am heading off as soon asI knock off Friday to get a head start. Which way are you heading up? :) Ill happily pay in beer.

Do you remember my ute? I have put in a nice polished pinewood tray in the boot as well as gave it a lick of paint. I did it in two pack and it looks plasticy but I was in a rush. Probably could do with some straightning out as well as a proper paint job in acrylic but such is life.

Ill post some pics here if you like so you can see what I mean.

Cheers
